Flower Care

  • Your flowers should easily last a week and often longer if properly maintained.  The only exception are Dahlia’s. They have about a 4-5 day vase life.
  • At home strip the foliage off all of the stems if you haven’t already done so.  Make sure no leaves or foliage are below the water level of your vase.
  • Cut the stem at an angle so there is more area for the flower to drink water and stay hydrated.
  • Place your flowers in cool water out of direct sunlight allowing them to sit for several hours before you begin arranging them.
  • Every two days change the water, rinse and re-cut the bottom of the stems removing about 1″ for a longer vase life.
  • Do not not display your flowers near ripening fruit. The ethylene gas from apples and bananas will shorten their vase life.
